JOHNSON COUNTY TREASURER

The Johnson County Treasurer’s office is open to the public. We encourage everyone to use the mail, the courthouse drop box, or online services whenever possible. The courthouse drop box is located on the north side of the courthouse by the parking area. New vehicle purchases can also be processed through the mail as long as we have proper signatures & paperwork. Thank you for your patience.

Don’t forget, the first half of Real Estate & Personal Property Taxes are due by April 30 and the second half of are due by August 31.

Duties:

NADINE BEETHE is the Johnson County Treasurer. The Johnson County Treasurer's office collects all revenues for the County. This office also bills and collects all Real Estate and Personal Property Taxes for Johnson County. The Treasurer's office issues all Titles and Registrations for all motor vehicles and boat registrations with tax situs in Johnson County. The County Treasurer disburses the collection to the proper political Subdivisions.

Department of Motor Vehicle (Drivers' Licensing only) Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. every other Friday - See DMV website for specific dates​

Services:

Vehicle Registration:  You may pay your vehicle registration in the office of the Treasurer or via mail. Send check or money order with your registration notice to Nadine Beethe, Johnson County Treasurer, P.O. Box 476, Tecumseh, NE 68450. If your address has not changed since your previous registration renewal, you can renew online, click here to go to the DMV's renewal site.

Real Estate Taxes:  Real property taxes are due December 31. The first half of the tax becomes delinquent on the following May 1st and the second half becomes delinquent on September 1st. You may pay your RE taxes online, in person or via mail. Send your check or money order with your Real Estate Tax notice to  Nadine Beethe, Johnson County Treasurer, P.O. Box 476, Tecumseh, NE 68450.
